Gearing for hardwood hills
I hear lots of ppl saying bring out there 15 tooth bells?? can anyone elaborate about this, ive got a 12,13,14 tooth bell ive only ran the 13 and havent had a chance to play with the others to see what they do, will i be ok if i use my 14 or is that still not enough???

I looked at the pictures in this link
http://www.rchobbies.ca/Forum/showthread.php?t=26673 I tried to look this weekend (was up for a bike race) It looks to me that the straight is fairly long. Nice and wide, so room to move. Moving to a 15 will definitely give you more top end but if your accustom to a 14 tooth then I can't say how much you would notice this change. I see they are talking a tuesday practice and friday practice.. since its a new track I'd bring both and hit the practice try a variety. Its hard tell how those technical areas would hit you. If it can be opened up more and you can glide at higher speeds into those corners you may be able to get away with more. Sacrifice bottom end for more speed... I would leave it at 14 if thats what you hit most races as. |

I run a jp mod vspec, and quite frankly the bottom was a 'lil too lacking with the 15 on the buggy. the 14 was a good combination of speed and acceleration. you might want to try 1.1 springs, but have the 1,0's on hand just in case its too snappy.
